The Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC) and the Pau Casals Foundation have signed an agreement to create the UOC-Pau Casals Chair in Music and the Defence of Peace and Human Rights.
The main aim of this project is to promote teaching, research and dissemination of knowledge related to Pau Casals. The chair also aims to look in greater depth at the links between music and the defence of the values of peace, human rights and democracy, and to contribute to strengthening the role of culture in line with the UN's 2030 Agenda and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Josep A. Planell, UOC President, and Narcís Serra, President of the Pau Casals Foundation's Executive Commission, signed the agreement on behalf of the two institutions.
