Pastora Martínez and Gemma Xarles, vice-rector and director of the area of globalisation and cooperation, will participate in the United Nations Transforming Education Pre-Summit, in Paris, from 28 to 30 June.
The purpose of this summit is to create discussion in the transformation of education, create initial content and establish a vision and actions and suggest new ones, and generate momentum for the September summit.
Furthermore, it is intended that countries that have advanced in their national consultations should present their preliminary results and share key elements of their commitment to transform education to inspire other countries to present actions at the Summit in September, that each thematic action track to present spotlight initiatives emerging from the initial discussion documents and explore potential coalitions and partnerships to bring these to scale, and to create momentum and serving as a key milestone towards a global movement for education, showcasing countries and educational leaders, offering a platform for children, young people, students, parents and teachers to share their vision and make their voices heard, and allowing stakeholders to come together and join forces to transform education.
