Objectius: To identify and systematize the dominant concepts and assumptions surrounding the disorder, as well as identify and promote change in discourse that potentially limits a sufferer’s agentive capacity. The method of analysing thought patterns through conceptual metaphor identification has been very successfully applied in numerous discursive fields, including the conceptualization of various illnesses. However, it has not been applied comprehensively to the discursive realm of severe mental illness.
