Xavier Prats Monné is the Director-General for Health and Food Safety of the European Commission since September 2015. He is responsible for EU policies and programmes in health and food safety, including the promotion of public health, the assessment of national healthcare systems' performance, pharmaceutical legislation, animal health and welfare, as well as the strengthening of Europe's capacity to deal with crisis situations in human health and the food sector.
Itziar Larizgoitia is a Public Health doctor with a doctorate in Health Policy and Masters in Public Health and Business Administration. She is currently a Senior Evaluator at the World Health Organization (WHO) where she leads institutional priority evaluations aimed at informing the institution strategic planning in order to promote an accountable and results-based organization. Its interest revolves around improving the quality, safety and performance of health systems and services from a scientific and integrated perspective.
Clinic Neuropsychologist and General Sanitary Psychologist, Sara Pérez is a professor in the Department of Basic Psychology II (Cognitive Processes) of the Universidad Complutense de Madrid. She is also head of the Clinical Neuropsychology Consultation, Neurology Service at Centro Médico Milenium Costa Rica Sanitas S.L. In addition, she is Neuropsychologist at the National Association of Apert Syndrome and other Sindromic Craniosynostosis (APERTCras) and academic member of EUPATI (The European Patients'Academy on Therapeutic Innovation) and coordinator of this platform.
He holds a bachelor's degree and doctoral degree in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Barcelona (UB), full professor at the University of Lleida (UdL) from 2002 and full professor at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) since 2007. He is currently scientific director of the European Advanced Translational Research Infrastructure in Medicine and director of the Vall d’Hebron Research Institute (VHIR), where he combines his scientific activities as lead researcher of the cell signalling and apoptosis group with management of the centre, which centralizes all of the biomedical and innovation research carried out at Hospital Universitari Vall d'Hebron.
Nuria Oliver, is Director of Research in Data Science at Vodafone and Chief Data Scientist at Data-Pop Alliance. She has over 20 years of research experience in the areas of human behavior modeling and prediction from data and human-computer interaction. She holds a PhD in perceptual intelligence from MIT. She worked as a researcher at Microsoft Research for over 7 years and as the first female Scientific Director at Telefonica R&D for over 8 years.
Antoni Trilla (b. Barcelona, 1965) holds a bachelor's degree in Medicine (1980) and a doctoral degree in Medicine (1990), both from the University of Barcelona (UB). He also holds master’s degrees in Hospital Management (UB) and Health Economics (Pompeu Fabra University [UPF]). He is a specialist in internal medicine, preventive medicine and public health. He is senior consultant and head of the Preventive Medicine and Epidemiology service at Hospital Clinic in Barcelona. He is associate professor of Public Health, and vice dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at the University of Barcelona. He is also a research professor with ISGlobal. His area of work is in the field of communicable diseases and vaccines.
