Webinar "Reimagining Academic Career Assessment: Stories of innovation and change"

Marta Aymerich, UOC Vice President for Strategic Planning and Research, will speak in a webinar organized by DORA, EUA and SPARC Europe, the aim of which is to discuss practical steps in reimagining academic career assessment. It is to take place from 2 p.m. to 3.30 p.m. (CET) on Thursday 25 February. These institutional- and national-level initiatives serve to inspire and identify emerging pathways of change.

The webinar will present the main findings from case studies that have been collected in an online repository and published in the report “Reimagining Academic Career Assessment: Stories of innovation and change”. A discussion of the findings and a Q&A session with the audience will focus on what can be learned from the experience of the universities and national consortia that have developed and implemented more responsible academic career assessment approaches.

The discussion on responsible academic career assessment has emerged to take center stage over the past decade as a way to promote open scholarship and improve academic culture. However, for all the progress that has been made, implementing more responsible academic career assessment practices is a real challenge. This webinar aims to support further change by presenting and discussing emerging pathways of institutional reform of academic career assessment.

Registrations are open until the start of the webinar. Participation is free of charge and open to everyone with an interest in academic career assessment. The webinar will be of particular interest to institutional leaders (rectors, vice-rectors and heads of administration), support staff and members of the academic community, including early-stage researchers, as well as policy makers and representatives of other organizations.

A recording of the webinar will be made available on the EUA YouTube channel.
