eHealth Talks: Science misinformation: from fake news to fake science

eHealth Talks: Science misinformation: from fake news to fake science

A new seminar in the eHealth Talks will be held on 3 November at 3.30 p.m.

Alexandre López-Borrull, researcher in the GAME research group and member of the UOC's Faculty of Information and Communication Sciences, will be the guest speaker at the session. The session will as usual be moderated by the director of the eHealth Center, Albert Barberà.

López-Borrull will reflect on the role of science and research professionals in relation to content curation, the creation of content with added value, and their presence on content platforms. He will focus in particular on COVID-19 and scientific denial. "Misinformation on scientific matters has always existed. But today, platforms, social media and the democratisation of technologies have led to the mass creation and dissemination of fake content and fake news. This has consequences at every level, from political and institutional communication to scientific communication," explained this expert.

This will be the final eHealth Talk of 2021.

As this is an internal event, attendance at the seminars is limited to the UOC community.
