Presentation of Barcelona Deep Tech Node

The UOC's president, Josep A. Planell, will attend the public presentation of Barcelona Deep Tech Node, a support platform for deep tech start-ups and spin-offs aimed at accelerating their access to the market.
 
This initiative is part of an alliance between Barcelona Activa, the University of Barcelona (UB), the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB), the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC), Pompeu Fabra University (UPF) and the UOC. Its mission is to position Barcelona as a leader in tech-based entrepreneurship born out of scientific or engineering research.
 
Key stakeholders will be in attendance at the event to outline the aims, lines of action and projects in the pipeline to deploy this initiative in the city of Barcelona. 
 
Barcelona City Council's first deputy mayor for Economy, Labour, Competitiveness and Finance, Jaume Collboni, and Barcelona Activa CEO, Fèlix Ortega, will speak on behalf of the city council. 
 
The participating universities will be represented by Joan Guardà Olmos, president of the UB; Armand Sánchez Bonastre, vice president for Research and Knowledge Transfer at the UAB; Daniel Crespo Artiga, president of the UPC; Oriol Amat i Salas, president of the UPF, and Josep A. Planell, president of the UOC. 
 
The event will also hear from Monica de Mier, CEO of Nextmol, and Adrià Argemí, CEO of Pangea Aerospace, representing two of the deep tech start-ups involved in the initiative.
