President Planell to take part in consular corps outing in Catalonia

Following a meeting on 2 September with the Catalan Minister for Foreign Action and Open Government, Victòria Alsina, UOC President Josep A. Planell has been invited to take part in the first consular corps outing organized by the Catalan government's Ministry for Foreign Action and Open Government, to the Port of Barcelona.

Barcelona ranks fourth among non-capital cities in terms of consular representation, coming in below Hong Kong, New York and Hamburg alone. Taking advantage of this fact, the Catalan Ministry is organizing a series of outings to showcase Catalonia's full potential in foreign affairs.

The institutional presentation of this first outing will be given by the Catalan Minister for Foreign Action and Open Government, Victòria Alsina, and the President of the Port of Barcelona, Damià Calvet. President Planell will then give a brief presentation about the UOC to all those attending, followed by a tour of the Port's facilities.
