Pastora Martínez Samper, Vice-Rector for Globalization and Cooperation at the UOC, will speak at the discussion panel on Participation and (under) representation in the metropolis, which will take place on Tuesday 23 November, as part of the “Barcelona Demà. Metropolitan Commitment 2030 ” of the Metropolitan Strategic Plan. This is a multi-faceted conversation with the participation of Aurora Huerga (General Secretary of Comisions Obreres de Construcció y Serveis de Cataluña), Javier Bonomi (President of Fedelatina), Javier Albarracín (Director Middle East and North Africa at Public Affairs Experts) and Pastor Martínez Samper.
The debate will focus on analyzing the underrepresentation of some groups by reason of origin in the various areas of participation and representation of the metropolis: political / civic, business, trade union or community.
The process “Barcelona Tomorrow. Compromís Metropolità 2030 ” is a space for strategic reflection at the scale of the city from six perspectives on the metropolitan territory of Barcelona: the resilient metropolis, the prosperous metropolis, the cohesive metropolis, the intelligent metropolis, the multilevel metropolis and the open metropolis. To encourage the participatory process, various debates and trainings have been organized in virtual or hybrid formats, which will have specific contributions to stimulate debate and guide the shared definition of responses to challenges.
