With the aim of improving the fulfilment of its goals, the UOC has decided to commit to a series of values, principles and standards that should inspire the conduct of the members of our University.

The code of ethics is a valuable point of reference for the whole of the university community and its mandatory natures is established on the basis of the moral reasons justifying it. Its strength lies exclusively in the commitment undertaken by all the members of the community to respect a series of common values and principles.

In this sense, the code of ethics is not a legal regulation but a collection of moral standards and principles that should guide the coexistence between the different people and groups in the University..

The generation of knowledge and understanding and the management of its activities – which affects both those who lead and conduct research and those who intervene in the assessment of research results and knowledge transfer – must be a joined-up process in which ethics are taken into account at all stages. Current legislation and the basic ethical and deontological guidelines published by most universities and research centres offer proof of the fact that ensuring ethics in research is an important concern.

Accordingly, to complement the current legislation and regulations, the UOC considers it necessary to have instruments that enable quality assurance in research and the prevention of problems relating to the integrity of its research staff's conduct.

The Criminal regulatory compliance policy sets out the general principles by which the University must be governed with regard to Criminal regulatory compliance, and is applicable to the directors and employees of the FUOC and other companies in the group.

The policy also applies to people who engage in activities in the name or on behalf of the organization, and to business partners who may pose criminal risks to the UOC and other stakeholders.

The UOC has a channel for queries and complaints that provides a confidential means for anyone to report any infringement of the applicable legislation and regulations by a worker of the University of which they are aware, including anonymously. Internal regulations are considered to mean all the UOC's codes, policies, procedures, instructions, protocols, regulations and manuals, among other documents.
