Teaching and research staff

The UOC’s teaching staff are responsible for organizing and overseeing online teaching activities. They manage programmes of study, course content and teaching materials, and they supervise and coordinate students’ learning processes, all while ensuring high educational quality throughout.

They drive innovation, especially in terms of methods and techniques used in distance learning and research activities in their field of expertise, and participate in activities that favour the dissemination of knowledge and its transfer to society.

The UOC faculty are a team of outstanding professionals who foster an enterprising culture based on excellence, and whose teaching activities are firmly focused on scientific work processes, quality and efficiency.

The UOC holds the Human Resources Excellence in Research award, a European quality seal recognizing the capacity to create a working environment that favours study and research while also boosting researchers' careers.

The UOC's selection processes are based on the OTM-R principles, in order to ensure that the best person for the job is selected.

OTM-R, which stands for Open, Transparent and Merit-based Recruitment, is one of the cornerstones of the European Charter for Researchers and, in particular, of the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers, published by the European Commission (EC) in 2005.
