Social commitment and university cooperation as drivers of change

Our projects promote the development of social skills and the values of cooperation and social justice.

Would you like to volunteer? You just need a little time and commitment and the desire to make a positive impact. Take part in university volunteering to start changing the world!

What can you get out of university volunteering?

As a UOC student, taking part in university volunteering with the UOC's partner non-profit organizations will give you the chance to:

  • Use your knowledge for projects that have a genuine impact.
  • Enrich your academic training with a life-changing experience.
  • Acquire transferable skills that are highly valued in the job market and will help you both develop as a person and advance your career, such as empathy, teamwork, interpersonal and intercultural communication, emotional management, and conflict analysis and resolution.

In addition, if you're studying for a bachelor's degree, you can apply for up to six optional credits for the hours spent volunteering with our partner organizations.

How can you take part in university volunteering projects?

We encourage you to participate in the volunteering programmes of the non-profit organizations that we have partnerships with. We prioritize projects aimed at combatting the social, digital and gender gap, providing inclusive mentoring of young people and children at risk of social exclusion, empowering women and helping them back into the workforce, providing psycho-emotional and legal support for patients, and raising awareness of global inequalities and tackling them head on. See this page for details of the organizations and calls for volunteers.

You can also volunteer with the UOC's mentoring programme for refugees, asylum seekers or stateless individuals who have been awarded scholarships to study at the UOC. The aim is to help provide access to the UOC to people whose academic and professional careers have been cut short due to their need to seek refuge from armed conflicts, humanitarian crises, persecution on the basis of their religious, ideological or cultural beliefs and similar situations.

You can also collaborate by donating when you enrol. When you enrol, just tick the UOC Cooperation Donation option to give 10 euros to help fund the UOC's social projects.
