Faculty's main milestones
25 years of milestones:
- 1995: the Faculty opens its doors and a pilot group begins Educational Psychology
- 2000: the Psychology degree welcomes its first cohort
- 2002: RUSC (now ETHE) is founded
- 2004: the trailblazing University Master's Degree in Education and ICT kicks off
- 2010: the doctoral programme in Education and ICT (E-learning) is offered for the first time
- 2017: enrolment on the Faculty's various degrees reaches 15,000 students
For the institutional celebration of the UOC's 25th anniversary we've put together a record of our most significant milestones. We've also been speaking to people whose stories epitomize the University's unique and pioneering history, members of the UOC community who highlight the reasons we've made it this far and where we hope to go in the years ahead.

Jordi Solé Blanch: "The early years were liberating, full of shared learning"
Bachelor's Degree in Social Education professor.
Jaume Carbonell: "The difference between the UOC and other university environments is the perfect adaptation of ICT competencies in online education."
Jaume Carbonell was one of the first students of Educational Psychology at the UOC and now teaches digital skills on the Bachelor's Degree in Communication programme.
Montse Vall-llovera: "At the UOC all sorts of things are possible, because it's a university that's open, young and flexible"
One of the most experienced members of the UOC's teaching staff, she has been a teacher, researcher, director of the psychology programme, and worked with the Office of the Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Lifelong Learning.
Joel Feliu: "Continuous assessment is vital to forge bonds and ensure quality online learning"
Course instructor in the field of Social Psychology since 1995/1996.
Maite Durán: "My pedagogical experience enables me to work with my patients and clients in a more enriching way"
