The postgraduate course on the application of ICTs to clinical practice is part of the Master's in Telemedicine. It has been designed and structured as an academic itinerary, which means that participants can access a type of training that suits their needs by enrolling on subjects that match their specific interests and the time they have available to study. ICTs and the Internet in particular have gradually made their mark on health services, affecting their structure and organisation and requiring all agents involved to adapt to new technologies. As a result, any technical innovation will depend largely and directly on organisational innovation, thus improving efficacy and quality of service.
The postgraduate course on Application of ICTs to clinical practice looks first of all at the analysis and operation of the innovations being incorporated into IT applied to different health systems in general and the use of digital medical imaging in medical care and telediagnosis in particular, in the diverse healthcare areas.
Secondly, this course attempts to introduce professionals to the reality of projects that apply telemedicine in real healthcare environments, analysing the interactions that take place during the implementation of ICTs and organisational transformations and changes that occur in management models, culture and healthcare services. It will also look at key aspects of their design, implementation, integration and evaluation.
In short, this postgraduate course will equip professionals with the skills for analysing which lines of work will be appropriate for taking advantage of existing experience and the possibilities opened up by technology, focusing on the development of Telemedicine implementation projects to be integrated with health information systems.
The programme includes the possibility of a grant to carry out projects at centres of renowned international prestige.
