The health service sector in the 20th century is experiencing intense changes and great innovation.

These are related to the addition of specific applications of technology to improve diagnostics, therapeutics and management; advances in the field of genetics, in clinical management systems and evaluation aimed at the search for better treatments and the best distribution of resources.

In the same sphere, professionals are facing significant challenges in the application of Endoscopic Ultrasound to new types of health problems in order to provide suitable and satisfactory responses to expectations and the growing demands of the public who is using complex and costly health systems; prioritising suitable services in an equitable manner and advancing in the process of intervention oriented towards self-responsibility for one’s own health.

The UOC, a pioneer in the virtual training modality, presents a Specialised University Programme in Health Sciences and Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS) aimed at developing the skills of medical professionals working in institutions within the sector who want to improve their healthcare performance.

The design, preparation and teaching of the programme involved teams of nationally and internationally recognised professionals and experts as well as academic and professional health institutions who have assessed and guaranteed the quality of the training process.

In accordance with the Bologna Directives, it is structured within the framework of university studies as a second cycle course with the academic title of University Specialist.

It is both a challenge and an opportunity for the UOC to contribute to the structuring and development of new studies, helping to train healthcare professionals, while offering a response to the steady, rising demand for specialised training on the vanguard field of EUS.

Professionals participating in this course will be qualified to perform Endoscopy or Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS) procedures.
