This specialist course, consisting of two subjects, is part of the second postgraduate course forming the Master's in Executive hospital management and deals with the management of healthcare processes.
The first subject covers healthcare processes and consists of three modules. The first looks at the organisation of these processes, the second deals with clinical management and the measuring of activity, and the third, management of nursing care.
The second subject covers the study of healthcare support processes and has a total of seven modules. The first deals with the management of healthcare support services such as laboratories and imaging. The second looks at the management of hospital pharmacies. The third focuses on the handling of clinical documentation. The fourth, on the management of welfare services. The fifth is concerned with teaching. The sixth covers research and the seventh and final module deals with the management of quality and knowledge.
This specialist course has a strongly practical bias, providing students with detailed knowledge of all of the services – whether clinical or healthcare support – that constitute the main healthcare processes of hospitals.
