Programme

The course can be broken down into 60 ECTS credits, which include the end-of-course project. The course is split over two academic years, with four terms:

 

First year, first term (15 ECTS)

- History of science in the Muslim world: heritage and creativity (5 ECTS)

- Islamic law: methodology (5 ECTS)

 

First year, second term (15 ECTS)

- Classical Islamic thinking: reason and revelation (5 ECTS)

- The Prophet (5 ECTS)

- Sufism and spirituality (5 ECTS)

 

Second year, first term (12 ECTS)

- Economic ethics and Islamic finance (3 ECTS)

- Islam and progress (4 ECTS)

- Sociology of Muslims in Europe (3 ECTS)

- Rights in Islam (2 ECTS)

 

Second year, second term (18 ECTS)

- History of Islamic civilisation (4 ECTS)

- Information, communication and dialogue (4 ECTS)

- Geopolitics of Euro-Arab relations (4 ECTS)

- End-of-course project (6 ECTS)
