All students who completed their programmes of study between 25 September 2025 and 24 September 2026.

What language are the graduation ceremonies conducted in?

The ceremony in Barcelona will be in Catalan, and the ceremony in Madrid will be in Spanish.

How many guests can accompany me at the graduation ceremony?

Due to the capacities of the venues where the ceremonies are going to be held, each graduate can invite no more than three guests.

How long does the ceremony last?

The ceremony lasts between an hour and a half and two hours (approximately) , depending on the number of graduates taking part.

This year's graduation ceremonies will take place in on-site and online formats, and graduates whose academic records were finalized between 25 September 2025 and 24 September 2026 will be invited to attend. If your academic record was finalized after 24 September 2026, we will invite you to the graduation ceremonies in 2027.

Please note these guidelines:

You can choose between attending in person and online.
You will have to select the ceremony according to the city where it is to be held. Remember that the graduation ceremonies in Barcelona will be held in Catalan, and the ones in Madrid will be held in Spanish.
Registration will remain open until the venue's capacity is reached.
If you choose the in-person option, you can attend the graduation ceremony accompanied by a maximum of three guests. You will be seated together with fellow graduates from your academic year.
If you choose the online option, you can actively participate in the ceremony with your fellow graduates from anywhere in the world.

The following sections provide you with answers to the most frequently asked questions about the graduation ceremonies.

Around mid-October you'll get an email with your username, password and instructions to register for this year's ceremonies. You can choose between Barcelona and Madrid, and in your preferred format: in person or online. After you register, you'll receive an email confirming your registration. Check your UOC email, your personal email (the address on record on the Virtual Campus) and your spam folder.

If you have chosen the on-site format, you will receive the entrance pass by email a few days before the ceremony, and you will use this for access to the venue hosting the ceremony. The entrance passes for your guests will be included in the same email.

If you have chosen to take part online, you will receive the link to connect and instructions to join in and participate actively.

Registration opens mid-October. The closing date will depend on which ceremony you plan to attend and the capacity of the venue. If registrations approach the capacity limit, the registration deadline may change.

You must choose one of your degree programmes in which to take part. You can specify your choice in the online registration form. Bear in mind that, at the ceremony, you will be sitting with your classmates from the programme you have chosen, in alphabetical order.

If you have doubts about the completion of your academic record, go to the Virtual Campus and send an enquiry to the Help Service. They will check your academic status and, if you meet the requirements, will tell the organizers to add you to list of invitees.

We want everyone to enjoy the ceremonies feeling completely at ease. Therefore, it's essential that you tell us about any specific requirements (for instance reduced mobility access, sign language interpreting, visual support, etc.) in the registration form. If they are aged three or above, yes. In accordance with the venues' safety and capacity criteria, each child aged three or above must have their own seat and will count as one of your three guests.

As a graduate, if you have chosen the on-site format, you will receive your ticket by email a few days beforehand, together with the instructions for access to the ceremony. We recommend coming with the entrance passes easily to hand.

If, however, you have chosen the online option, you will receive a link by email a few days before the session you have chosen, along with instructions on how to participate.

If you're attending the ceremony in person, the entrance passes for your guests will be included in the same email sent with yours. If you've chosen the virtual format, a few days beforehand you'll receive a YouTube link that will enable your family and friends to live-stream the ceremony. You, however, will use Zoom to take part as a graduate in the ceremony.

No. The seats are allocated automatically, by faculty and in alphabetical order. Bear in mind that graduates are seated apart from their guests, in a separate part of the hall. For the smooth running of the ceremony, it's very important that you sit in your allocated seat.

On graduation day, you need to arrive at the event venue with your ticket and those of your guests easily to hand, and in good time to enter the hall. Please follow the instructions of staff, who will supervise the event to ensure that it proceeds correctly. Doors will open early enough to allow staggered access, so we recommend arriving at the venue early.

Remember to follow the entry and exit routes indicated; they will be marked differently.

Each graduate will be awarded recognition of their achievement, ordered by area of study and degree programme. For this reason, it's very important that you sit in your pre-assigned seat.

You will receive a commemorative print and various materials to enable you to participate in the new-format graduation ceremony.

Those of you who choose the online format will also be able to take an active part in the event and throw your virtual mortarboard, no matter where you are, with the instructions that we will give you on the day.

If you have registered for the online format, a few days before the event you will receive the instructions to participate and to be able to follow the ceremony.

No. At the ceremony you do not receive your official degree certificate, but you will receive a commemorative gift that accredits that you're a graduate of the class of 2025/2026.

This gift is presented exclusively to graduates who attend the ceremony (in-person or online). If you don't attend the ceremony, the gift will not be sent afterwards.

Yes, you can, but please bear in mind that you cannot take the pushchair into the hall. The venues have areas where you can store it during the ceremony.

This year's venues will also provide a children's area that may be useful depending on your needs.

No, there is no specific dress code. This notwithstanding, because this is an academic ceremony, we recommend that you dress smartly, whether you take part in person or online.

At this year's graduation ceremonies, the UOC will give a stole for the class of 2025/2026 to graduates who attend in person. This stole will have the same design for all graduates. Mortarboards will also be given to graduates at the ceremony.
