Vice Rector Xavi Vilajosana inaugurates 22@BREAKFAST | RESEARCH IN SOCIAL SCIENCES

Next Thursday, June 22, at 9am, Xavier Vilajosana, Vice Rector for Research, Knowledge Transfer and Entrepreneurship, will inaugurate the 22@BREAKFAST #173 on research in social sciences in the new building of the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (Rambla del Poblenou, 154), an Interdisciplinary Research and Innovation Hub of the UOC. Its more than 2.700 square meters are entirely dedicated to the University's research, innovation, transfer and entrepreneurship.

 

Research at the UOC focuses on interdisciplinary projects in human and social sciences, education, health and technology. Research is carried out with a transformative vocation to generate social impact, in projects such as: the application of AI in the detection of Alzheimer, big data to improve university performance, a Wi-Fi system that goes at the same speed as optical fiber or on a platform that makes a more participatory democracy possible.

 

The UOC conducts unique, singular and recognized interdisciplinary research that addresses the challenges of a global and connected society around three areas of application: the network society, online learning and digital health. This is why we have invited Laia Arnal, General Director of the Society of Knowledge, Transfer and Territory - Research and University Department, Cristina Cano, associate professor at the UOC and researcher of the WINE research group of the IN3-UOC and our new Senior Domo partners, Angel Puertas, Co-Founder and CEO.
