CfP: Seminar on LGBTIQA+ studies and experiences in Academia: "Spreading Queer Knowledge"

On the occasion of International LGBTIQA+ Pride Day and LGBTIQA+ Pride Month, the Doctoral School and the Equality Unit invites you to participate in the II UOC Pride LGBTIQA+ Research Day. In this edition, we extend the participation to welcome the entire academic and activist community in Catalonia.

The Research Day will take place on June 21 at the UOC’s Interdisciplinary R&I Hub (Rambla de Poblenou, 154, Barcelona).

The seminar invites researchers to participate by presenting their thoughts, investigations and reflections on LGBTIQA+ subject matters. These can correspond to the doctoral thesis, as well as articles or works in progress.

To participate in the seminar, we invite you to send a document with the following information: title, name and affiliation, abstract of 300 words, and a maximum of 5 keywords no later than 16 April 2024 22 April 2024 to phd_school@uoc.edu. The subject of the e-mail must indicate the following: II Seminari Orgull LGBTIQA+ and your surname(s) and first name(s).

The following is a list of possible topics, whereas others are also welcome: LGBTIQA+ Studies and Epistemologies, Identity and body, History, Linguistics, Media, Representation, Anthropology, Literature, Cultural studies, Intersectionality, Social movements, Sexuality, Statistics, Ageing, TICs.

All abstracts will be reviewed by the scientific committee of the Seminar, and the acceptance of the proposal will be issued no later than 21 May 2024.

Accepted contributions, if desired, may be deposited in the public repository of the UOC in the context of this Seminar.
