The UOC to host EdMedia 2025

The UOC will host the 38th edition of EdMedia, one of the leading international conferences dedicated to educational innovation and the application of information and communication technologies in learning. Organized by the Association for the Advancement of Computing in Education (AACE), the event will take place from May 19 to May 23, 2025, bringing together experts from over 70 countries.
 
Over the course of five days, researchers, academic professionals, and other key stakeholders in the educational sector will engage in discussions about the latest advancements and practical applications in areas such as:
- Advanced technologies for teaching and learning.
- Open and distance education.
- Innovation in educational assessment and quality improvement.
- Global networks and collaborations.
- Educational responses to global challenges, including AI.
 
In this context, one of the standout sessions will be “OpenEU, the path towards a pan-European open university”, focusing on the alliance of open and distance universities coordinated by the UOC. The session will feature Theo Bastiaens, Rector of Open Universiteit, and, from the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC), Pastora Martínez Samper, Commissioner for International Action, and Javier Luis Cánovas Izquierdo, Academic Director of the joint Bachelor’s Degree in Software Development and Testing.
 
EdMedia 2025 offers a diverse range of formats, including research presentations, interactive workshops, innovative exhibitions, and keynote addresses by leading figures in educational technology and provides a unique forum for the exchange of knowledge and best practices.
