Roundtable: "Gender Equality in the World and at UOC"

Next June 22 a roundtable will be held at UOC. The topic of the roundtable will be:

Gender Equality in the world and at UOC

This roundtable is intended to foster dialogue and exchange and to bring together projects, initiatives and positions between different groups of the UOC currently working and researching on gender issues and equality, whether in specific research projects or guaranteeing the operation and implementation of equality policies internally at the university.

Members of the following groups will attend to the roundtable:

• Research Group on Gender and ICT (IN3)
• Equality Commission (UOC)
• UNESCO Chair in e-Learning (UOC)

The President of the UOC, Imma Tubella, will participate in this roundtable as the main driver of the gender equality policy at the UOC. Agnès Vayreda, delegate of the President for equality issues, will describe the Equality Plan recently approved by the Governing Council of the UOC. The research team on Gender and ICT of the IN3, led by Cecilia Castaño, will provide the perspective of gender and equality research in Europe and at UOC. The UNESCO Chair in e-Learning, in addition to organizing the roundtable, has the issues on women empowerment through new technologies as one of his main work fields.
