On Thursday 23 May, the eLearn Center will host the conference The organisation of the Swedish school system and its relation to ICT: challenges and possibilities, by professor Eva Edman Stålbrandt from the Stockholm University (Sweden).

Eva Edman Stålbrandt is Ph from Åbo Academy University (Finland) and lecturer at Stockholm University, Department of Education. She’s middle school teacher since 1985 and teacher educator since 1997. Her main research interest focuses in how ICT can bridge the gap between teacher education and school practice.

Professor Guillermo Bautista, of the Psychology and Educational Sciences Department of UOC and researcher at the eLearn Center will formally present the speaker. Professor Bautista knows in depth the Swedish school system and develops research in the field of “SmartClassrooms” and “Open Schools” by the integration of ICT.

During the conference, professor Stålbrandt will present the Swedish school system, giving examples of local ICT projects, and will invite the attendees to reflect about similarities and differences between the Catalan/Spanish and the Swedish systems.
