Program
Next Thursday 11 July, from 12 to 1 pm, the eLearn Center will host the research seminari 'Estudio etnográfico sobre el impacto educativo y comunitario del modelo 1x1 en una localidad de Uruguay', by Mónica da Silva, from Universidad de la República (Uruguay).
Mónica da Silva is PhD candidate of the eLearn Center's Doctoral Programme of Education and ICT (e-learning). She is currently at the eLearn Center in a pre-doc stay, working on her doctoral thesis “Aprendizaje colaborativo mediado por TIC: análisis del diseño e implementación del modelo Quinta Dimensión en el contexto educativo uruguayo”. Monica's tutor during her stay, which ends 17 July, is Dr Adriana Ornellas, professor of the UOC's Informatics, Multimedia and Telecommunications Studies, who is also her thesis director.
The seminar aims to present the results of an ethnographic research done within the Uruguay educational context that, from the 1x1 model, wanted to know the characteristics of ICT collective appropriation on the childhood and its impact on the community.
During the seminar, Monica will also show how the findings give way to a research proposal raised by the action research, design, implementation and analysis of the collaborative learning model "Fifth Dimension" facilitator of learning as mediated by technology.
