Historian and politician, linked to the Catalan European Democrat Party (PDeCAT), Santi Vila has previously been representative at the Catalan Parliament (2006-2013), mayor of Figueres (2007-2012) and Minister of Territory and Sustainability (2012-2016).
He has taught contemporary history at La Salle school of Figueres and at the department of Humanities and at the department of Economic and Business Science of the Universitat de Girona. He has published several scientific and informational articles on aspects regarding the historical memory, among which there is Elogi de la memòria, for which he was awarded the Joan Fuster essay prize (2004).
