Pastora Martínez in the EUA's group of experts on Science 2.0/Open Science

Pastora Martínez, the UOC's Vice President for Globalization and Cooperation, is taking part in the eighth meeting of the European University Association's (EUA) group of experts on Science 2.0/Open Science, acting as a representative for the Conference of Rectors of Spanish Universities (CRUE). The meeting is being held in Brussels on 11 and 12 January.

The Expert Group on Science 2.0/Open Science was created by the EUA Council in 2015, with the aim of providing a forum for debate on open science and Science 2.0. The group is made up of eighteen experts (nominated by the national rectors' conferences) and two special advisors.

Key areas the working group are focusing on include open access to publications and research data, data mining, data protection rules, human resources and skills, citizen science, as well as other matters relating to the EU's Digital Agenda. The experts have been given the task of making recommendations, drafting papers and interacting with a wide range of stakeholders.

The EUA is an organization that represents a network of universities and national rectors' conferences in 47 European countries.
