The UOC organizes an RRI workshop at the 2018 INGENIO PhD Days

“RRI and Open Science: Reflections and Opportunities for Researchers” is the title of the
workshop that the UOC will organize on May 3 as part of the 2018 PhD Days
conference on Science, Technology and Innovation: New Challenges and Practices
organized by the INGENIO research institute (CSIC-UPV).

The conferences are organized by and for doctoral students and early career
researchers. The event seeks to provide the opportunity to develop and refine research
capabilities, and presentation and communication skills, while acting as a meeting point to
help build career networks.

As part of its commitment to responsible research and innovation (RRI) and open
science, the UOC is organizing a workshop to review the theoretical framework and
encourage critical reflection on its main aspects. The possibilities to apply it in the
participants’ everyday research practice will also be discussed.

The main themes of interest of the 2018 PhD Days place particular emphasis on
societal concerns in areas such as environmental sustainability, innovative and
reflective societies, climate action, food security, inequality and social welfare. They
thus respond to the priority issues in the European Framework Programme for
Research and Innovation (Horizon 2020).
