Benjamin Mako Hill will visit the IN3 on Monday, 4 June. He is Professor of Communication at the University of Washington, Fellow of the MIT Center for Civic Media (where he developed his thesis with Eric Von Hippel and Yochai Benkler) and a member of the Free Software Foundation's Board of Directors.
Mako is a researcher and key actor in the development of free software, a member among others of Debian and Ubuntu projects, as well as the Board of Wikipedia. More information on his publications and research profile in collaborative production and in research methods in big data here.
Taking advantage of his visit to Barcelona and meeting with the Dimmons research group of the IN3, later, from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m., we would like to invite you, if you are interested, to know the projects in which Mako participates and set up a dialogue around the lines of work with which he connects. It will be an informal meeting with a limited capacity (in theory, only addressed to the IN3 and UOC community), where he will present his current work and then we will open a debate with the participants on topics of common interest.
