The event is open to academics, users, professionals and policymakers linked to the field of independent living. The aim is for everyone to be able to take part and share their knowledge and experience. In the workshop, the results of the UOC's Mapping Independent Living in Spain research project will be presented and discussed in relation to the work of Dr Fernando Fontes, University of Coimbra, on the challenges for independent living in Portugal, and Dr Teodor Mladenov, Marie Curie Researcher, ENIL, on personal assistance in Europe. The workshop will also host a session about local experiences to explore the main controversies regarding the development of independent living in Spain, and will finish with a co-research workshop. The venue is accessible. The event will be videoed and there will be an interpreting service (English/Spanish). Attendance is free of charge, although you do need to register beforehand via this form.
The workshop has been organized by Israel Rodríguez Giralt (UOC), Miriam Arenas (UOC), Andrea García-Santesmases (UOC) and Joan Moyà Köhler (UOC).
