Next June 18, the Institute INAECU will organize the Workshop: Challenges and opportunities of “Open Science” at university that will take place in the Puerta de Toledo campus of Carlos III University in Madrid. This event will summit national and international experts related to open science and university from a multidisciplinary perspective. Politics and strategies developed in the European and Iberian context as well as in higher education institutions will be discussed. Furthermore, a debate will be held with extra-university actors who will provide their perspective on the advantages of the implementation of open science at universities.
UOC will participate with a presentation on the participatory final research papers project, which is inscribed in the Open Knowledge Action Plan. An undergraduate or graduate participatory final research paper is an applied work with the objective of presenting solutions and/or recommendations about problems or real needs of society. Therefore, these final research papers are based on specific needs previously defined by civil society organizations, public administrations, as well as other non-for-profit actors, and are developed by UOC students. This project has counted already with the participation of seventeen graduate and undergraduate students.
