UOC President Josep A. Planell will participate in the upcoming European Citizenship in the Digital Age seminar, organized jointly by the European Commission's office in Barcelona and the UOC.
The seminar seeks to offer a new perspective on European citizenship and what being a European citizen means in the 21st century, in terms of the possibilities and opportunities available. The underlying objective is to generate greater public awareness of practical matters and cultural differences that people should know about before going to live in another European country, for example legislation and regulations on immigration within Europe, and details about how EU organizations work.
Other participants in the seminar include the director of the European Commission's office in Barcelona, Ferran Tarradellas, the director of UOC X (Xtended Studies), Ignasi Buyreu, and the Secretary for universities and research of the Catalan government, Francesc Xavier Vidal i Grau.
