Program

Abstract

Ylipulli will introduce DISC, Digital inequality in Smart Cities a 5-year research project studying digital inequalities and possibilities of digital inclusion through design anthropological approach. The project is focusing on rapidly digitalizing urban contexts in the capital region of Finland, and the PI has also visited Barcelona to learn how the challenges posed by digital inequality are approached in the city.

Dr. Johanna Ylipulli

Academic of Finland research fellow & principal investigator at Aalto University, Finland. She has worked for over a decade in highly interdisciplinary environments combining perspectives from anthropology of technology, design and human-computer interaction. Her interests revolve around urban digitalization, emerging technologies and participatory and speculative design approaches.
