Program
Key candidates for the 2019 municipal elections will meet to discuss the current state of development and future possibilities of the digital economy, placing particular emphasis on the platform and collaborative economy models and their impact on the city of Barcelona. The overriding goal of the debate will be for those candidates seeking to hold office in Barcelona City Council after the 26 May municipal elections to exchange their views on the resources recently generated in the sector and to lay out their proposals for public policy to cover this new trend.
The platform economy is based on the interaction between distributed groups of people using digital infrastructures and on the resulting co-creation of capital assets and labour. This new economic production and consumption model is growing exponentially and has therefore become a priority for governments all over the world.
