Seminar (GAME): "Persuasion, Gaming Practices, and Ongoing Research Lines"

The team of the project Gamblification, Youth & Digital Games, within the Learning, Media and Entertainment Research Group (GAME), is pleased to invite you to the internal seminar "Persuasion, Gaming Practices, and Ongoing Research Lines" to be held in face-to-face format on Tuesday 16 de December, at 10.30 am (CET), in Room U1.15 of Can Jaumandreu (Building U).

This seminar is conceived as a space for exchange and discussion, rather than a formal session for presenting final results. The goal is to share ongoing advances, contrast perspectives, and foster dialogue among the project team and its workstreams. Given the current stage of the project, we have more temporal flexibility, which allows us to prioritize collective reflection, methodological adjustments, and planning of next steps.

The session will feature:

- Ricardo Carretero Vila, Design Director at Rovio | Systems & Economy Specialist in F2P games, who will present a talk focused on persuasion mechanisms from the perspective of the gaming industry.

- Gema Bonales and Salvador Gómez, professors at Universidad Complutense de Madrid, who will introduce the project Persuasive Communication in Games as a Service: Problematic Uses among Generation Z.

In addition, brief updates will be provided on:

- Systematic literature review

- Focus groups

- Quantitative survey

- Video game analysis

- Prevention strategies

- Presentation of the Dark Eye app

The seminar is designed as an internal and collaborative working session. While limited participation from external guests may be considered, the intention is to maintain a focused and strategic environment. If you wish to suggest additional attendees, please contact Ronald Sáenz, who will coordinate the participant list.
