This session will be dedicated to the presentation and discussion of a policy brief resulting from postdoctoral research conducted in Portugal, which aims to investigate how media consumption by older people in their daily lives influences their self-perception of aging and shapes their experiences. This document is especially aimed at media industry professionals, policymakers, and media representation and regulatory institutions in Portugal, providing data from research on the topic, recommendations, and strategies that, when combined, can contribute to combating media ageism in the country.
