Call for Abstracts: "Ecocentric perspectives on Nature-based Solutions for urban resilience"

The Urban Transformation and Global Change Laboratory (TURBA Lab) research group cordially invites you to participate in the Call for Abstracts for the Open Panel «Ecocentric perspectives on Nature-based Solutions for urban resilience: moving beyond anthropocentric assumptions» within the ESST 2026 Conference.

About the conference

The EASST’s Biennial Conference will be held in Krakow, Poland, on 8-11 September 2026. EASST is the organization which represents academics and researchers in the broad field of science and technology studies. It brings together a variety of disciplines and many of its members have qualifications in both natural science/engineering and social sciences.

About the call

Andrea Nóblega-Carriquiry (TURBA Lab) and Maria Manso (Universidade Lusófona) are the convenors for the Open Panel «Ecocentric perspectives on Nature-based Solutions for urban resilience: moving beyond anthropocentric assumptions» that explores how Ecocentric perspectives reshape Nature-Based Solutions in urban resilience interventions, questioning anthropocentric assumptions, technical, transformative and governance knowledges, and the politics of re-greening within future urban transformations.
 
They welcome regular academic papers that must consist of:
 
- a title
- the name/s and email address/es of author/s
- a short abstract of fewer than 300 characters
- a long abstract of fewer than 250 words.

The Call for Abstracts will close at 23:59 CET on 9 March 2026.
