The UOC hosts an international meeting with DxTera and 1EdTech to promote interoperability

On 4 and 5 May, the UOC will host the international meeting Shortening the Distance to Interoperability, an event that will bring together experts from around the world to move towards a more connected and interoperable higher education ecosystem in Europe.

The meeting, organised in collaboration with 1EdTech and DXtera Institute, will convene international experts in data and technology, public officials, and higher education professionals. The aim is to share knowledge and foster collaboration between institutions and sectors to facilitate system connectivity, data exchange, and the development of more flexible, student-centred educational models.

In the context of European initiatives such as the European Higher Education Interoperability Framework (HEIF) and university alliances such as OpenEU, coordinated by the UOC, interoperability and data are a key element in building more personalised and internationally connected learning pathways.

The UOC, a member of the Dxtera network since 2017 and of 1EdTech Europe since 2014, participates in this initiative by contributing its experience in digital models and system integration, thus helping to promote a culture of interoperability based on collaboration and shared standards in the university context.
